BASIC INFORMATION

Age: He is about 300 years.
Gender: Male
Faction: Le Fléau d'Orléans. he can get along with any faction that is not the Church. He absolute cannot stand the Church or those that seek to destroy him or his kind without a thought. He loads those blindly devoted to anything due to the fact they seem more mechanical than an actual living thinking creature in his eyes. Tools waiting to be broken for their errors. Sickening..

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Appearance: Calabus stands at the height of 6 feet even and weighs about 170 lbs. He is has a lean body that he always dresses with black clothing. He has multiple outfits, but is usually found wearing some version of black pants, a white shirt covered by a jacket with sleeves that are too long for him, thus covering his hands. Sometimes he finishes the look off with a black top hat with a grayish color scarf on it. It is needless to say he always looks his best. If he is not found in the more elegant and elaborate dress wear, he can be found in an all black attire complete with boots and belts of all sorts. The material is form fitting and covers most of his skin and is typically what he wears if he is not mingling with people or he is performing work in his lab.
Calabus has pale white skin, but unlike typical vampires that are assumed to be beautiful and flawless, this particular one is different. He is quite attractive, but flawless skin does not apply to him. There is a noticeable scar across his face, along his neck, and one near his left pinkie finger. While the scarring on his neck and finger is typically hidden, the large scar on his face isn’t making one wonder just what happened to the guy to get an scar like that in the first place. In any case, he has long whiteish grey hair that flows down to his waist. He usually wears it lose occasionally, putting decoration in it or letting the children place flowers in it. He keeps at least one braid in his hair and his bangs hang low enough to hide his very strange eyes when he wants to. His eyes are a strange yellowish green color that is not seen on other vampires. Whether this is naturalor from something else is hard to say and of course the vampire doesn’t give straight answers to such questions either. Outside of this, the only other noticeable thing is his long black nails…or claws should we say. Much like his eyes people wonder if he just trained his nails to grow that fashion or if he actually performed modification on himself to acquire the nails he has today. Another question that is never fully answered.
Personality: Calabus is a very strange vampire to deal with it. He is a champ at hiding and coming out of places most wouldn’t think had entrances or way to hide in them. While not even his own kind is sure why he does such things, it is known that Calabus gets a kick out of the faces and reactions people make when they are startled or taken off guard by his random appearances from seemingly out of nowhere. He always appears with a grin on his face and has a personality so sweet it is no doubt it is fake. Still to call him out on it would be no use. He remains grins and pretty much all over the place making it hard to pin down if the vampire is simply being dramatic and comical or is acting that way because there is something really wrong upstairs.
Oddness aside, he can be easily chatted with; however, getting straight answers is like trying to stop the world from ending. He doesn’t lie, but he won’t give a straight answer either. He talks in ways that neither confirms nor denies anything leaving people in the same boat of confusion they came to him with. His behavior takes a lot of patience to deal with and those short tempered may find themselves in a world of trouble if not careful. The vampire may appear to be cheerful and out there, but keep in mind this is all an act that will quickly vanish if one offends him or says the wrong thing.
Like the snap of finger, he can go from being confusingly silly to down right serious if need be. When he is serious, his true nature and the danger associated with it comes out fully. He is an old vampire with a lot of pride and low tolerance for disrespect and demands. If you want him to play nice you have to play by his rules. To do so otherwise can lead to dangerous waters. Granted, he won’t stop you from pissing him off. No, no. In fact, he may let you rattle off and let you go; however, don’t be surprised if sometime down the road a pet of his comes after your head or he seeks you out to become his new test subject. After all, this vampire seems to get a kick out of making the foolish suffer, but that is another story for another time. Just keep in mind pissing him off is never a good idea.
A thing to note about Calabus is this: he holds a ton of information due to his profession as a researcher in both his own fields and investigating the world and what is happening in it. He obtains it through any means possible and absolutely loves trades that involves gaining more information; however, getting what information he keeps is another matter. He won’t give information for free nor will he give aid freely either. If you want him to fully cooperate then you must pay him something in turn up front. This something is not material, but rather completely dependent on how well you can entertain him. Make him laugh or amuse him and he just might give you what you want if what is on the table fits the bill; however, keep in mind this is an elder vampire so creativity is key to winning in this battle.
There is another way to bargain with the guy for information and that is with either offering information of your own to exchange or perhaps getting something to help him further his research. Despite his ways, he is always fair and keeps to a bargain…so you best stick to your if you want to live. He is strange, but professional nonetheless when it comes to business.
If he is not mingling with others for information trading, then he can be found in his labs or in the field gathering data to further his research and complete the books he writes. He is very interested in the strange events within Elkhorn and holds a deep interest in finding out the truths behind the mysteries of the spirit realm. He can be found all over the place during the night time and typically indoors in dimly lit place during the day time. He does sleep during the day, but has an odd habit of sometimes being awake during this time from time to time.
If one were to catch him during the day time hours, the shift in personality is like night and day. Instead of being full of energy and all over the place, Calabus is very calm. He still crops out from seemingly nowhere, but unlike the mischief of the night, he appears either sitting or standing in a spot. His attitude is business like and confident with an unspoken demand for respect and manners. He remains completely laid-back not using any energy unless necessary to defend himself or what he considers his. Bargaining with him is still as hard as ever and more dangerous during the day considering his tolerance and patience is lower during the day than it is the night and he more prone to destroy what displease him than let it walk away. Still keep him entertained or interested and you may just live to see another day. He still retains the grin that has gotten him the nickname Cheshire Cat; however, the grin holds much more malicious nature than the one found at night, showing to those confused before by his more energetic side that he is a predator and sees anything outside of his own kind as food or tools.
While it appears he makes has attachments to others, he does seem to hold a certain sense of duty to his house and he does genuinely care for his creations something that is pulled out if and when Sephtis is brought up or pulled into a situation. He also seems to have a soft spot for children, creatures he interestingly does not target as prey for feeding or research, but why this is a mystery. In a nutshell, this information gatherer and trader is a hard person to figure out and a challenge to befriend, but he leaves the challenges open for any take on if they wish or dare too. Outside of that he is a huge question mark for both the outside world and his own kind. Still he is respected and nothing to take lightly no matter how he appears to act.
History:
The history behind Calabus is something that is shrouded in heavy mystery. What is known is that he has been around since the House he belongs to began. It is also known is that at some point in his life time he used to be into politics and acted as a voice for those that he sided with. Off to the side, he has always has done experiments and research, so many were not surprised to see him step out of the political ring in favor of research after about 100 years of being in such a circle. Some think he may have tired of the position or perhaps he didn’t like the restraints. Whatever the case was he stepped out of the political arena and began focusing more on his experiments and data collecting to help him better understand the worlds around him though for what purposes he has never said.
Along the way he made various servants and warriors through experimenting, learning from each just how the body worked for creatures of all types. He wrote extensive notes on his findings seeming to collect the data from experiments and the world for his own amusement. It wasn’t until later in life when he created Sephtis that he seemed to put his years of data to work on something that was not a toy or a normal tool in his scheme to collect all he can about the world. Yes, he has notes on Sephtis and still observes the manufactured half bread to this day; however, unlike his other tools that he usually pushes to the limits for some result or another, Septhis is the only experiment he lets do as he pleases. Whether this is compassion or something else is hard to pin-point though.
Another use for his gathered knowledge is for trading with others that can fulfill his odd prices for things. He still gets pleasure out of new information about the normal world, but as of late he has been fascinated with finding out the truths behind the mysteries of the spirit world, an untapped source of knowledge he is determined crack open. As a result of this, he usually can initially seeks out spots where spirit activity is the heaviest and he is willing to cooperate quite easily with others that provide him with information or resources from this strange world to experiment with or pocket for his own plans. The scarring that is found on his body is believed to be caused due to his high curiosity in this unknown field. Although what on earth tore into him in such a fashion, no one knows and vampire won't tell. Outside of these, facts little is known about his personal life or what the motives of this vampire maybe…

Description: A blade about four and half feet feet in length rests on a staff that puts the weapon about a a half of foot over Calabus 6 ft height. It's handle is made of precious black stone and bones seem to be embedded within it. It is elegant and perfectly balanced for something its size. However, it seems Calabus is the only one thus far that can use the weapon correctly without getting hurt from strain or improper use.

Description: A pair of twin handguns engraved with strange designs of dragons and skulls. At the drop of a hat, Calabus can switch between his scythe and these weapons, making his style of fighting unpredictable and chaotic. When using the duel guns he mixes unarmed combat in there meaning he will kick and strike out. This particular style allows him to take advantage of his natural speed.

Description: Anything imbued with holy energies is either untouchable or difficult to touch. The result of being an undead entity.

Description: It has the same effect as something imbuded with holy energies.

Description: It hurts..alot. The heat sensitive skin of the vampire allows fire to make damage lasting like those of holy nature.
Name: Water
Description: Traveling over bodies of water or being submerged causes the body of a vampire of a vampire to become heavy and difficult to move. The deeper the water, the more difficult it is to travel across it. Submerging will cause him to go into a sleep status that cannot be removed unless he removed from the water. Even then it takes him a few hours to wake back up. It doesn't kill but it is still the annoyance.

Description: A wooden stake, or anything of holy nature, to the heart can instantly kill the guy.

Name: Firearms (Style)
Description: The knowledge and skill of using ballistic weaponry in combat. Rank E is considered basic training, while rank D would be an expert – anything higher is more in the bounds of gun-kata styled feats. He prefers his twin handguns as his weapon of choice; however, he can always figure out others guns if given sometime.

Description: The general knowledge of the body and the tools needed to ensure its health and longevity. The field of applied science focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. E would be basic combat first aid with above-average medical knowledge, while D would be Knowledge of a trained doctor or physician; typically with a specialisation of some kind. Beyond these ranks, a person’s medical skills are practically supernatural.

Description: The skill of using two weapons and possessing enough familiarity of using both hands at the same time. Such skills allow the user to have more options in combat.

Name: Chimeric Blood
Description: Blood so volatile that it is even thought that consuming it would have unspeakable and random consequences. While still enslaving those who drink such vampire blood, it creates monstrosities under the sire's control. Even then, they are capable of even molding them further as abominations through further blood ministration or even through scientific means.

Name: Self-Modification
Description: Le Fléau d'Orléans are rather adaptive vampires with their bodies. They are more able to absorb biological matter into their flesh and make it their own. Or even manipulate how their own bodies work. Such as growing claws by extending fingernails or even manipulate the structure of their bones.

Name: Whisper
Description: Hypnosis that induces subtle suggestions in the target. Requires the vampire to look into a victim's eyes in order for this to work. So as long as nothing is drastic, the target will follow whatever commands the vampire gives.
Rank E: A very small, even trivial "favor" can be forced on the average human victim. Spanning from opening a simple door or holding an object. The words spoken from the Whisperer's mouth would not be doubted, unless direct evidence presents itself.
Name: Regeneration
Description: Vampires are capable of healing from their inflicted wounds on their own. This is what makes them difficult to kill. Due to this ability, they actually are able to survive wounds that may kill an average person. It takes supernatural attacks to make any lasting effect, especially those of holy nature which has the most effectiveness.

Name: Frenzy
Description: The maddened state of a vampire, their natural fight or flight response. Frenzy can be induced when a factor of massive stress is presented to them. Under that newly presented factor, vampires would either try to eliminate/kill what caused it to frenzy or flee out of fear. Some of it maybe a cause of their anger, desperation, or many other forms of reasons. Many vampires who frenzy tend to become numb to pain. However, they are still capable of being damaged. Most vampires who frenzy tend to lack motor functions as they are in a berserk state.

Techniques
Name: Teleport
Description: Calabus will turn into a mass of black mist that quickly vanishes from sight. He'll reform in another spot typically away from danger or whatever caused him to teleport in the first place. In battle this allows him to dodge moves and avoid damage due to the fact he is no longer there when he becomes mist. Outside of battle, this allows him access to places that maybe tricky to get into by normal means and also a means of travel for him.

Name: Stacatoo
Description: Calabus will hop into the air pulling his twin guns out. He will then aim at his targets on the field and release a rapid volley of gun fire upon all that stands in his way. The goal is to put as many holes in his enemies as possible. Fires up to 6 times if the target is alone. If there is more the amount goes up to 12 times.

Name: Paralysis
Description: Calabus will unexpectedly close the distance between himself and another using a dash. However, instead of charging in for an attack, he veers off to the side of the person allowing him to swipe out with his claws in an attempt to strike them. While no one is sure what is on his nails, if the attack does hit home, the wound it creates causes pain before causing whatever is hit to become numb and useless for three turns.
